Start with the installation, not the product name. Your pressure rating, bore, overall length, end connections, movement, bend radius, fluid, temperature, sour-service conditions and external exposure determine which configuration should be reviewed. The four models below combine two termination approaches with two levels of external protection.
Choose a crimped configuration when the approved hose-and-coupling system, project specification and assembly layout support this construction. Select armored protection for exposed routing or an unarmored version where the hose is protected and lower handling weight is preferred. Final suitability depends on the exact pressure, size, ends and service conditions.
Choose a built-in configuration when the project calls for an integral termination design and the proposed assembly has been verified for the required duty. Armored and unarmored versions let you match external protection to the installation. Confirm manufacturing limits, connection geometry, length, bend radius and documentation before ordering.

State the normal and maximum working pressure, expected pressure transients and required inside diameter. AlienFrac offers project-specific 5,000, 10,000 and 15,000 psi configurations within the current product family, but the available size-pressure matrix must be checked for the exact model. Do not use test or burst pressure as an operating rating.
Treat construction as an engineered system choice. Compare the approved hose body, reinforcement, termination method, available length, bend radius, end geometry, qualification evidence and production scope. Neither construction is automatically correct for every installation.
Use armored protection where the route may face abrasion, impact or harsh external exposure and where the additional weight and outside diameter are acceptable. Use an unarmored assembly in a protected route when the approved design and project risk assessment support it. Armor does not correct poor routing, overbending or incompatible service.
Identify every fluid that can contact the bore, including drilling mud, kill fluid, gas content, additives and possible H₂S exposure. Provide minimum and maximum fluid and ambient temperatures, including start-up and short-duration conditions. Material compatibility and sour-service requirements must be confirmed for the proposed liner, end materials and seals.
Define how overall length is measured and provide the installation route, available bend radius, movement and connection orientation. Specify End A and End B separately, including connection type, size, pressure class, material, face or hub profile, coating and clocking. Flanges, hubs, hammer unions and other project-specific ends require engineering confirmation.
Name the applicable API Spec 16C edition, required Flexible Specification Level and project inspection requirements. Ask for the exact certificate scope, assembly test record, dimensional report, material traceability, end-connection records and any third-party release documents required by your contract. Do not assume that one certificate covers every configuration.
Flexible choke and kill hose assemblies are used where a pressure-rated flow path must accommodate movement, vibration or installation variation in well-control systems. Typical locations include connections between BOP equipment and choke or kill manifolds, riser-to-manifold arrangements, offshore topside routing and land-rig well-control packages. Confirm whether subsea depth, external collapse, gas service or repeated decompression applies before selection.
For critical well-control service, request the current datasheet and evidence for the exact hose model, size, pressure, temperature, FSL and end configuration. Review the assembly identification, API Monogram or other certification scope where contractually required, pressure-test records, inspection documents and deviations before release.

FSL means Flexible Specification Level under API Spec 16C. The required level affects the applicable design-validation requirements. State the required FSL in the RFQ and verify that the proposed assembly and current certification scope cover it.
Project-specific ends may include flanges, hubs, hammer-union interfaces or other engineered connections. Specify End A and End B separately, including size, pressure class, material, profile, coating and orientation. Availability requires engineering confirmation.
